Our wine tours are usually complete wine-tasting holidays lasting for at least a weekend but extending to four days, a week or even a fortnight.
In Cyprus, however, we offer private one day excursions into the wine routes of Troodos. Occasionally we even organise coach parties for our single-day excursions. The cost depends on how far we are going but we have one such on the 31st May 2016.
If you are living in Cyprus these present a great chance to do something a little different from your daily routine, and if you have friends or relations visiting you they offer a lovely outing on which to take them.
Our 31st of May 2016 excursion has been organised for people staying in the Ayia Napa/Protaras area and sets off at 9.30 am from the Daxi Information office in Pernera. We will be heading for the beautiful Lefkara area in the foothills of Troodos. We would stress that, as with our full length tours, the excursion is as much about enjoying an interesting day out in a lovely setting as about getting to know some of the wines of Cyprus.
At the time of writing the €45 equates to about £35. What do you get for your money? Transport first of all from the Ayia Napa/Protaras area and back. Petrol would probably cost you the major part of that if you went on your own. Then there’s a substantial lunch – either Cyprus meze or buffet style from which you choose your own meze. Wine is included with the lunch as is the winery visit(s) and tasting(s). We’ll either visit two wineries or one winery and something not wine-related such as the bee and lace museum in Kato Drys. We’ll also spend some time in the picturesque village of Lefkara, the setting of the Cyprus TV comedy romance, “Proti Stagona”.
All in all you get a great day out in a beautiful part of Cyprus.
We aim to start heading back at around 6pm to be back in the Protaras area by 7.30 pm.
