Enjoy an incredible wine experience in the heart of Portugal’s Douro Valley paradise.

Your experience starts at 11 am on Friday 31st August. A coach takes you to the famous Taylors Port Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. We’ll have a light lunch at their lovely terrace restaurant with its stunning outlook over Oporto and the Douro River. Then we’ll have a tour of the Taylors Port Lodge and a tasting of their ports. Then it’s down to the river for a relaxing river boat cruise. We’ll spend the evening at the Hotel Rubras and dinner at a fabulous restaurant we have discovered nearby.

We’re making an early start the next day with a coach taking us to the railway station for a most picturesque train journey to Tua station in the very heart of the Douro Valley Wine Country. For two days you will be in the hands of Wine Grower extraordinaire, Victor Marques: Visits to vineyards, wineries boat trips and possibly some surprise treats.

If it’s your first time, you probably won’t have experienced anything like it.  If it is not your first time – Well we find it quite understandable that you should want to return again and again.

Early on Monday you’ll be taken by jeep back to Tua station for your return train journey, arriving in Oporto at 10:45. We’ll have a farewell lunch at our favourite restaurant, near the Douro River in Vila Nova de Gaia, the Mairé Baixa.

Cost of the whole trip (not including flights) is £590.00 per person based on two people sharing. To make timing of arrival completely free of pressure, there is an optional extra night at the Pedras Rubras Hotel on Thursday, the day before we start. Cost including dinner will be £50.
