East Sussex TN31 E-Bike Wine Tour
We meet at 10:00 on a Friday at Rye railway station (postcode TN31 7AB where car parking is generally available). You will be met by your wine tour guide along with the respective e-bike hire company (Rye Bay E-Bikes). You will be paired-off with a hired e-bike for the day, The first 20 minutes or so, is reserved for firm instructions on the capabilities of an e-bike and if you have not ridden an e-bike before, for safety’s sake it is worth taking a test ride to familiarise yourself, before leaving.
Like all our UK single-day wine tours, we can only operate with a minimum of six (6) adult participants, normally starting at 10:00 and finishing at 17:00 hours, at the latest.
In considering the English weather pattern and the English vine growing season, we are conducting ten separate single-day e-Bike wine tours on our TN31 route, starting on Friday 13th May on a fortnightly basis through until 23rd September during the 2022 year.
Once everyone is ready, we head off on a circuitous route initially in a north westerly direction (keeping away from main roads whenever possible) to the Oxney Organic Estate, our first wine producer venue, near Beckley for a vineyard tour, winery tour and tutored tasting afterwards.

E-Bike Wine Tour
After a picnic lunch with a glass of wine overlooking the Oxney Organic Estate, our next cycle route is quite challenging with more hills than the morning’s run together with some bridleway paths and cross-country tracks, so being quite fit is a key element on this particular-journey (even with e-bike power assistance)! Initially we head in a south westerly direction and later south to Charles Palmer Vineyards, near Winchelsea, where you will experience a vineyard tour followed a tasting of three wine styles.
As carrying away any number of bottles you decide to buy from a wine producer or winery is unsafe or prohibitive on an e-bike, we would encourage you to place an order for home delivery!
Our return journey to Rye railway station follows a gentle north easterly route. Before you leave to travel home or on to your next destination, we recommend that you visit Rye Fine Wines, (near Rye station) who stock several English still and sparkling wines.
Your tour guide, e-bike transport, all winery and other visits, lunch, and wine tastings.
