E-Bike Wine Tour, Kent TN26

Kent TN26 E-Bike Wine Tour

We meet at 10:00 on a Thursday at Appledore railway station (Postcode TN26 2DG) where you will be met by your wine tour guide together with the respective e-bike hire company (Rye Bay E-Bikes). Please note, there are “NO car parking spaces” available at Appledore station. The first 20 minutes is dedicated to presenting you with firm instructions on the capabilities of an e-bike and if you have not ridden one before – for safety’s sake we suggest you take a test ride, before leaving.

Like all our UK single-day wine tours, we can only operate with a minimum of six (6) adult participants, normally starting at 10:00 and finishing at 17:00 hours, at the latest.

In considering the English weather pattern and the English vine growing season, we have planned to conduct ten separate single-day e-Bike wine tours on our TN26 route, starting on Thursday 12th May which continue fortnightly up to Thursday 22nd September 2022.

For all the respective 2022 e-Bike wine tour dates on our TN26 route, please view full details including Booking Dates on our “Day-tours Information” page.

When everyone is ready, we set off on our hired e-bikes to visit the award winning Gusbourne Wine Estate via a route taking us through Appledore village (just over 3 miles away / about 20 minutes cycling). We join their “Vineyard Tour” starting at 11:00 hours.

This tour lasts for two hours and includes a walk amongst the vines, and a winery tour, with a tutored wine tasting afterwards, in their tasting room.
Whilst this well-respected English wine producer is better known for their Sparkling Wines, they now also produce Still Wines.

As carrying away any number of bottles you decide to buy from a wine producer or winery is unsafe or prohibitive on an e-bike, we would encourage you to place an order for home delivery!

After the Gusbourne comprehensive tour finishes, we follow an easy twenty-five-minute picturesque cycle route to our second wine producer venue, about four miles away to Woodchurch Wine Estate. Once there, Graham Barbour (owner) will present a tutored wine tasting of still and sparkling wines after which you can relax over a light charcuterie lunch with a small glass of wine, overlooking their 12-acre vineyards. Thereafter, we take a gentle circuitous sightseeing e-bike route back to our meeting point at Appledore railway station.

Our picturesque e-bike journey back to Appledore station follows a southerly route via Shirley Moor and then skirts around Appledore and on south to see the marsh isolated 13th Century St. Thomas Becket Church near Fairfield. The last bit of our circuitous cycle route goes northeast to Snargate and left onto the B2080 to Appledore station (in all from Woodchurch about 8.5 miles cycling distance).

Included are:

Your tour guide, e-bike transport, all winery and other visits, lunch, and wine tastings.

Not included are:
