E-Bike Wine Tour, Kent TN26

Kent TN26 E-Bike Wine Tour

Our chosen weekday for this e-bike wine tour is on a Thursday.

We meet at 10:00 on a Thursday morning at Appledore railway station TN26 2DG where you will be met by our wine tour guide and the e-bike hire company (Rye Bay E-Bikes).  The first 20 minutes will be dedicated to presenting you with firm instructions on the capabilities of an e-bike and if you have not ridden one before – for safety’s sake we suggest you take a test ride, before leaving.

Like all our UK single-day wine tours, we can only operate with a minimum of six (6) adult participants, normally starting at 10:00 and finishing at 17:00 hours, at the latest.

When everyone is ready, we set off on our hired e-bikes to the Gusbourne Wine Estate via a route taking us through Appledore village (just over 3 miles away / about 20 minutes cycling).

As the Gusbourne Wine Estate need at least 4 weeks-notice for conducting a 2-hour private wine tour of (6 people minimum), to include a walk amongst the vines, a winery tour, and a tutored wine tasting – the sooner you book, the sooner we can arrange your day with us in the TN26 area.  So, for example if you book this wine tour with us Thursday, 8th July, we will organise your morning there (and the rest of the day) on Thursday 5th August.

As carrying away any number of bottles you decide to buy from a wine producer or winery is unsafe or prohibitive on an e-bike, we would encourage you to place an order for home delivery!

Our second wine producer venue on a Thursday, takes us on to visit Woodchurch Wine Estate, about 4 miles or 25 minutes e-bike cycle distance away – where you can relax over a light charcuterie lunch and a small glass of wine overlooking their 12-acre vineyards. Afterwards, Graeme Barbour (owner) will conduct a vineyard tour and tutored tasting for about 75 minutes. Coffee can be made available before we continue our way back to the meeting point.

Our picturesque bicycle journey back to Appledore station follows a southerly route via Shirley Moor and then skirts Appledore and on south to see the marsh isolated 13th century St. Thomas Becket Church near Fairfield. The last bit of our circuitous cycle route goes northeast to Snargate and left onto the B2080 to Appledore station (in all from Woodchurch about 8.5 miles cycling distance).
