Sardinia

29th September to 2nd October

Three day (4 nights) wine-tour holiday in Sardinia

Sardinia that beautiful island of the Mediterranean whose history goes back to Neolithic times, an island bathed in sunshine and surrounded by beautiful beaches and striking caves of splendid stalactites (the ones hanging from the ceiling) and stalagmites, the ones on the floor.

This is an island where almost every family produces its own wine so steep is the wine making tradition here. Everywhere you will hear of a red-grape variety called Cannonau. It is the same grape that is known in France as Grenache and in Spain as Garnacha. We’ll include a brief visit to a family’s vineyard and home-wine making facilities. Have a look at http://www.billwarrywine.co.uk/wine-facts/making-wine.php .

We’ll be staying at the family-owned Hotel Il Querceto in Dorgali. This will be half board and we’ll be having lunch out often at the vineyards with our winemakers.  With the exception of one day mainly focussed on a boat-trip and cave visiting, we aim to take you to two wineries a day and to do some site-seeing in this beautiful island.

Cost for the four nights is £597 based on two people sharing. There is a £100 single person supplement. The price includes airport transfers all meals a guide on each of the three days, transport to the wineries, winery visits and tastings. You can book extra nights at the hotel at special rates if you wish.

OPTION: You can have a private tour (minimum two people) on other dates subject to hotel and guide availability. The cost will be a little higher particularly in full season. E-mail your preferred dates and number of people for a quote at admin@winesandtours.co.uk
