Welcome to 2018
and a New Wine-Tour Concept
I guess, now that the Christmas festivities are over, that many of you will be thinking of your plans for your summer holidays. While you are doing that, I would like to ask you for your reaction to a new offering we are planning in Greece: A wine tasting holiday on the beautiful island of Andros.
Most of our Wine-Tours have their emphasis on Wine-touring whilst remembering that you are also on holiday. This offering has an emphasis on holiday whilst remembering that you are also wine lovers. What we are seeking to find out from you is if the concept appeals.
I envisage making a 7-day scheduled Wine-tasting Holiday commencing on the 28th July 2018.
This is the programme we envisage:
Accommodation at fully serviced luxury villas in Andros.
28th July 2018 You arrive by the evening, settle in, buffet supper and wine at the villa.
29th July We have a welcome lunch at a good restaurant in Andros. In the evening we have a light supper and wine-tasting at the villa. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy holiday activity such as swimming in the pool or in the sea, walking, sailing, surfing, lying on the beach etc.
30th July We go on a Wine-tour to a Winery in Andros, taste their wines and have brunch there. In the evening we have a cooking class at the villa, eat the result paired with appropriate wines.
31st July We go to the neighbouring island of Tinos. We visit two wineries there and taste their wines. We lunch at a restaurant in Tinos. In the evening we have a light supper (with wine of course).
1st Aug In the morning enjoy your chosen holiday activity (or lack of) as you get yourselves ready for a BBQ lunch in the garden. Light supper in the evening. Suitable wines to accompany both meals. This is fundamentally a day for holidaying.
2nd Aug We have a boat trip round the island with wine-tasting on board. Picnic lunch. Restaurant supper.
3rd Aug We visit an Olive Oil factory in the morning. In the afternoon we go trekking. Andros has some wonderful walking trails. We follow up with a cooking class in the late afternoon and eat what we prepare.
4th Aug We suggest that you fly back from Mykonos, that we take the ferry there in the morning and have a farewell lunch in Mykonos.
There is much more free time on this “Wine-tasting Holiday” than there usually is on our Wine Tours. There are plenty of holiday activities in which to indulge in Andros. These include Yoga classes, Scuba Diving, Wind Surfing lessons and private Sailing lessons.
Although the accommodation is at luxury villas rather than a hotel, you have all the facilities of a top-class hotel with daily service and cleaning of the villa, daily maintenance of the pool, change of sheets and towels twice during the week, pick up when you arrive (from Andros Port (Gavrion). You will also be pleased to know that there is free high speed WIFI connection.
The cost of this Wine-tasting holiday includes all meals, whether at the villa or at restaurant outings that we organise, a generous amount of a variety of Greek Wines, all winery and other visits and tastings, all transport in our organised programme from the tour start in Andros to the tour finish in Andros or Mikonos (according to people’s preference) and your guide. Not included are flight or other transport costs to and from Greece and any personal holiday activities you choose such as sailing lessons or scuba diving.
Cost based on two people sharing would be €2470 per person based on two people sharing a room.
So, what do you think? Is the concept appealing? Let us know your thoughts by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The wine-tasting holiday can also be arranged as an “Anytime Tour” for six people or more as long as you book early enough to ensure availability.
