Spanish Wine Tours 2014

Think of Spanish wine and you probably think “Rioja” (north Spain)! OR if you are of the generation where “elevenses” was the norm, you might think “Sherry” (south Spain)!

Wines and Tours are offering unique opportunities to visit selected bodegas within the “Sherry Triangle” (south Spain) from 6^th to 8^th May or those within both Navarra and Rioja (north Spain) from 27^th to 29^th May ……. or BOTH.

For our visit to south Spain in early May, our base for 3 nights will be at the Sherry Park Hotel, in Jerez de La Frontera and similarly for our late May visit to north Spain, we will be based at the NH Hernancia Hotel in Logrono where for each venue a “welcome dinner” will greet our tour-groups from 22:00 hours on Tuesdays 6^th May and 27^th May, at the above venues, respectively.

South Spain

Our tour of the “Sherry Triangle” on 7^th and 8^th May encompasses bodega visits in Puerto de Santa Maria (near Cadiz), Sanlucar de Barrameda and Jerez de la Frontera which will be interspersed by a bodega lunch on 1^st day and a visit to Arcos de la Frontera for lunch on the 2^nd day overlooking some stunning scenery of the Guadelete river and beyond. This tour is offered @ £475 per person.

Wines of Navarra – Ochoa.

North Spain

From our base in Logrono – we are devoting a day each for our tours of two selected bodegas in each of Navarra and the Rioja wine-growing districts of north Spain – by starting with “Navarra” in the towns of Olite and Falces on Wednesday 28^th May – followed by “Rioja” in Ollauri and Briones on Thursday 29^th May.
