E-Bike Vineyard Tour, Rye, East Sussex TN31

We meet at Rye railway station (postcode TN31 7AB where car parking is generally available). You will be met by our associate business operative tour guide from the E-Bike hire company (Rye Bay E-Bikes).

Ideas on what to expect on our “Rye” E-Bike vineyard tour:

You will be paired-off with a hired E-Bike for the day. The first 15 minutes is reserved for firm instructions on E-Bike capabilities. If you have not ridden an E-Bike before then, for safety sake it is worth taking a test ride to familiarise yourself, before leaving.

In considering the English weather pattern and the English vine growing season, the best months to arrange this sort of E-Bike vineyard tour adventure is to choose a day from late April to late September.

Subject to whatever details our associate tour leader arranges, our English E-Bike single-day vineyard tours are likely to start at 10:00 and finish at 17:00 hours; and the respective seven-hour day includes two English wine producer visits and lunch in a vineyard setting.

Dependent upon our associate tour leader’s arrangements, once everyone is ready, we head off on a circuitous route initially in a north westerly direction cross-country (keeping away from main roads whenever possible) to the first wine producer venue, near Beckley.

Our visit there will probably start at 11:00 hrs. lasting about ninety minutes that cover’s a vineyard tour, winery visit followed by a tutored wine tasting. Soon afterwards, you can enjoy a picnic lunch with a glass of wine overlooking their vineyards, prior to departing at 14:00 hrs.

As carrying away any number of bottles you decide to buy from a wine producer is unsafe or prohibitive on an E-Bike, we would encourage you to place an order for home delivery!

Our onward journey (for about eleven miles) to our next wine producer venue near Winchelsea covers a more challenging route of cross-country tracks with some bridleway paths – so being quite fit is a key element on this particular-journey (even with E-Bike power assistance)!

On arrival near the vineyards at about 3:00pm., you will meet a member of the respective family wine producer who will talk about their family history, overlooking a panoramic view of their vineyards. Afterwards you will be presented with a tutored tasting of three wines (still and sparkling).

Our return journey to Rye railway station follows a gentle north easterly route.
