NAVARRA TOUR – 2 days – from Sunday 25th September 2016

Our tour commences with a welcome dinner at 8pm on Sunday at the Hotel Parador de Olite. This was once part of the old castle. Navarra, where the people are mainly Basque, has resisted many foreign invaders in the past and neither the Moors nor the Francs made many inroads there.

For those who will be coming with us from our Rioja tour, we will be providing a FREE leisurely ride and light lunch to Olite. It is a Sunday and we will leave the afternoon for you to relax and explore the medieval town and its historical edifices.

On Monday 26th, after our breakfast at the Parador, we will visit the wine museum almost next door. Over the course of the next two days we will visit one winery in the morning and one in the afternoon.
One of the two days will be concentrated on Olite where we will visit the Ochoa winery and Bodega Inurrieta. The latter is probably the largest winery that we visit in all our tours, though Quinta da Aveleda in Portugal is pretty huge too. It is interesting to see the vastness of the enterprise and the logistics of handling such large scale production.
The other of the two days will probably be spent a little to the North East of Olite at Puente La Reina for Cristina Andoño y Javier Lana’s winery and at Medigorría for Viñedos y Bodegas de Medigorría. After the second winery visit, we will leave you at a suitable coach or train station for onward travel to Zaragoza or Bilbao (according to your travel plans).
There the Tour ends. Should you choose to come with us to Sardinia, the next of our sequential tours, free transport excluding flight will be provided to the airport in Spain and from the airport to our chosen hotel in Sardinia.

What is included & what is not included?
Not included are flight arrangements & transport to our starting point or from our finishing point. Within the start and finish points, all transport, accommodation, meals, winery visits & wine tastings are included. If you also book our Rioja Tour, free transport with a lunch break is provided from Logroño to Olite on Sunday 25th September. If you are coming with us to our next tour in Sardinia, transport is provided to our chosen hotel In Dolgari – except for flight costs.

Bookings:
Each tour is booked with a €200 non-refundable deposit per person to enable us to firmly secure the hotel accommodation. The balance will later become payable by bank transfer 60 days before the tour commences.
